Position: Director of Family Services/Occupational Therapist
Education: Masters of Occupational Therapy, University of Kansas
Sarah has practiced as an occupational therapist in the pediatric and adult population, in school and community-based practice, with a concentration in developmental disabilities. She has expertise in program design, daily living skills, fine motor, functional visual skills, sensory processing, behavior, assistive technology, feeding, and home adaptations.
Position: Director of Speech & Language Services/Speech-Language Pathologist
Education: Masters of Communication Disorders, Central Missouri State University
Betsy has practiced as a speech-language pathologist in the pediatric population, in school and home-based practice, with a concentration in developmental disabilities. She has expertise in speech and language development, pragmatic language skills (social communication), sign language, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), behavior, Apraxia of Speech, feeding, and fluency (stuttering).
Position: Director of Behavioral Services/Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Education: Masters of Special Education with an emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorders, University of Kansas
Megan has practiced as a BCBA in the pediatric population, in school and home-based practice, with a concentration in reducing maladaptive behavior. She has expertise in creating function-based positive behavior support plans, creating visual supports, teaching functional communication skills, and training caregivers.
Amy has served on the executive staff at Down Syndrome Guild for 15 years. She has expertise in Down syndrome across the lifespan, adult services, guardianship, transitioning at all ages and stages, advocacy, and program design.
Julie coordinates the core programs of S.T.A.R.S., P.A.L.S., Siblings, Seminar Series, DS Specialists, Smart Start, and H.I.R.E.D. Julie has expertise in teaching, program development and coordination, transitions, behavioral support, collaboration with schools, peer training, sibling support, and preparation for adulthood. A portion of Julie’s staff time is dedicated to helping the Pathways ™ participants generalize their targeted goals in DSG’s social programs.
